From first ride to confident competitor

Lesson Program

At Sneak Away Riding Club, our lesson program welcomes riders at every stage — from absolute beginners taking their first ride to advanced riders refining skills for competition. We offer private and small-group English riding instruction for both youth and adults, with lessons tailored to each rider’s experience, goals, and confidence level.

Lessons start at $350 per month for non-boarders and include one weekly lesson, with options to add additional lessons as riders progress. Discounted lesson rates are available for boarders and leasers, offering added value for those riding and training at the barn.

Our program emphasizes correct fundamentals, thoughtful progression, and a positive learning environment that supports long-term growth — whether you ride for enjoyment or aspire to compete.

Building confident riders from the ground up

Foundations of Horsemanship & Riding

Great riding starts with great horsemanship. Lessons at Sneak Away focus on more than just time in the saddle — riders learn how to understand, care for, and safely work with horses both on the ground and under saddle.

Instruction includes grooming, tacking, horse handling, and barn safety, along with balanced position, effective aids, and clear communication. These foundations create confident, capable riders and set the stage for success in any discipline.

Explore, specialize, or simply enjoy the ride

Disciplines

Our lesson program supports a variety of English riding disciplines, allowing riders to explore different paths as their skills develop. Instruction is available in dressage, combined training, and eventing, with guidance tailored to each rider’s interests and goals.

For those interested in competition, riders may prepare to participate in local and recognized shows through organizations such as South Texas Eventing Association (STEA), United States Eventing Association (USEA), and Houston Dressage Society (HDS). Showing is always optional and approached when riders are ready.

The Sneak Away Show Team

Riders who choose to compete become part of the Sneak Away Show Team — a supportive program focused on preparation, horsemanship, and teamwork. From schooling shows to recognized competitions, our coaching emphasizes confidence, consistency, and care for the horse.

Show team riders benefit from structured training, clear goal-setting, and a positive team atmosphere that encourages growth both in and out of the arena.
